The upcoming season...
Jesus Christ Superstar
25.06.2003 - 29.06.2003
Miss Saigon
13.08.2003 - 24.08.2003
Riverdance
11.11.2003 - 16.11.2003
JCS will have to be seen. It will have to be seen with good seats. I will be there, and I will not be in the noseblees. I LOVE JCS!
Miss Saigon......*shrug*. I saw it on broadway. It has some merit, but by and large, it's a so-so musical. The one nice thing about it is that it's tied to a charity intended to hold american servicement accountable for vietnamese orphas that they have fathered and then left behind. There is a number in the play intended to illustrate their plight, and they donate portions of the proceeds to this foundation, or at least they did with the Broadway one.
Riverdance is not a musical in the conventional sense, but I (and I seem to be in a slight minority here from people I talk to) LOVE the music of Riverdance. I have it on tape at home, and I listen to the soundtrack almost daily at work, it's great background music. I may well see this, but it's not a burning desire. I like it, but it doesn't have that same live theatre need as standard musicals do.
Overall, not as good as last season, but JCS is still a shining star (get it?) in the lineup.
