Damn it.

If you buy a dozen eggs, don’t forget them on the counter. It’s been 2 days….think they are ok?

You could open one outside and smell it, that's my suggestion.

Honestly, they could be fine. But they could also be so vile...

(Good luck with this, if it makes you feel any better I've done this too.)

In Europe, they don't refrigerate the eggs in the stores. But, I'm told that in Canada we wash a protective coating off our eggs, so need to refrigerate them. I don't know the accuracy of the 2nd.

Try one and see?

We kind of par boil them. So I would say what you heard is probably accurate.

Call this a third vote for try one and see. If it doesn't smell like rotten eggs, then you're fine. Due to the boiling above, there's a statistically insignificant chance of germs on or in the egg.

You can float them in a deep bowl of water. If they rise, they're not good. If they stay at the bottom, they're ok. At least I think that's the right way round. =D Best of luck.

Ethnowoman has it the right way around! It is usually used to check the age of an egg, but I suspect it works for spoilage too...

just fine. It sank and stayed right to the bottom of the glass.

Fried a few up, they were perfectly tasty
