(no subject)

So I found out that when I get back from vacation next week that I will be "IT MAN". Our IT guy (network support, server admin, etc...) is on vacation for 3 weeks. So 3 of us have been given 1 week each to be lord and master of the network and servers (well sort of). Mostly it means checking that the data was backed up, that the scheduled overnight processes worked properly, and be the first person contacted by our ISP who also do the actual monitoring of our servers. The unpleasant part is that I need to have a cell phone with me.....ALWAYS. After work hours, I will not be called unless our ISP can't handle it or need my input, however I need to have the damn phone with me evening and weekends as well.

It's just for one week though, and I will get to learn about more about the infrastructure of the company, which is ok.
