What don't I know about the world? First I am Mindy from animaniacs, now this.
Considernig the number of women I know that got Male results, I'd say this test needs some tweaking.
So Helen and I looked at more houses yesterday. In paticular, we looked at a model in the Alta Vista development that Helen saw on her own Wed. night, and like it so much she almost called me at Nesia's house to tell me. So I saw it as well. I have to admit it, I like, I really like it. It's not actually *that* snazzy, it's really rather plain in some ways, but it's well laid out. It's such that despite being a modest sized house, the space is used efficiently so that they can still offer it up at $220,000 (and change), and that includes hardwood in the living/dining room, and half a finished basement. The nervous part about it is this. We have only really started looking. It seems foolish to just go and plunk down the cash and say I'll take it. Helen is a touch nervous that it will be a smidge to small, we don't know if the materials are bare minimum (anyone got an online review of Claridge home), there is a lot we just don't know. The unnerving part it, there will be about 8 of these units going up in the city, that's IT! The unit is 3 feet wider than a normal townhome, so they are not building any except in this one complex which has lots a touch wider than traditional townhome lots. So if we miss these, we miss out on a home that we both like (no small feat) for $220,000.
A pitfal is we are not crazy about the 2 bathroomns. But the main bathroom and the ensuite lie side by side, if we knocked down that wall, we'd have one decent sized bathroom instead of 2 dinky ones. Since it's just us, we.re ok with that. Of course we have to pay for that, but it's a nice idea. Anyways, it occurred to me to put a refundable deposit on the home (they give you 7 days to back out) and spend 6 days looking at house like a madman for a comparison. It's all happening a bit fast. Poor Helen feels like she is getting swept up in Hurrican Ansfrid as I start to buzz amidst housing developments like a hummingbird. I hope she'll forgive me when the dust settles. Right now, I need to get ideally my brother who is a house contractor, and/or
lrt512, and/or Nesia's mother (who seems keen) to go through the home and comment on construction, materials, and things to ask for/specify when we sit down with the agent.
