That's it. I'm going shoe shopping this week. I went for a walk at lunch, and it got a bit cross country and through bush. At the end, I had vegetation pinned and trapped underneath the various areas where my sole is peeling off. The spot against the back of the foot is exposed to the (cracked) plastic core, and Helen said she could smell them after I took them off a couple of days ago from the study while they were in the foyer. Realizing that old shoe smell does nothing to endear me to the women in my life, and wanting something with in proper shape with proper decent soles, I want new shoes.

I know just have to properly do the shopoping excursion to find shoes that will fit. I have a handful of places that usually have shoes that can fit me, but selection is limited. If I want to use them for fencing, I want them to be black or brown so as not to be intrusive on the eye. I thought about keeping the old ones for fencing only, but fencing is where I need a proper fit and shock absorption the most. Ultimately, I'm just not a fan of white running shoes, i'd prefer black or brown whether fencing or not. However, running shoes are of course predominantly white. I ponder the notion of more traditional walking shoes, which are usually brown, but then I can't really use them for fencing at all, never mind how they would look. Considering what shoes cost me however, I want to make sure the pair will work for all purposes I need them for, which means running shoes are probably the requirement.

Hey, you get 14 EEE feet and see how much thought you put into your shoe purchases.
