(no subject)

A nice relaxing christmas over on this front, I am hoping everyone gets to enjoy the same on their front. Now with the busy schedule of christmas mostly done, often consisting of cleaning up from a meal so you have time to prepare the next meal, we are doing some boxing day relaxing and I have time to check my e-mail briefly and update LJ. xmas loot consists of mostly new dvds. It seemed to be my theme this year. Someone told Helen's parent I like Fred Astaire, and now I have 6 to 8 new Fred Astaire movies (I should go count them). Add to this Return of the King form Helen, Jeeves and Wooster 1st season from her sister, MASH season 6 from me to Helen (but I get to watch them as well), Strictly Ballroom, De-Lovely, as well as a cd of Fred Astaire songs...a definite theme. I have successfully been somewhat modest in my food consumption. Certainly no diet, but no excessive seconds and thirds either. I am feeling fairly good about myself on this front. Enough to enjoy xmas, not so much as to even feel close to feeling like I am bursting.

Now we relax for a couple of days. I want to go get a new wristwatch, something nice and elegant. (some people feel compelled to shop for shoes, or clothes....I have a thing for wristwatches...I don't actually buy them, but I often look and get tempted). My battery in my current belt watch went dead (I assume it's the battery)...and while I can get a new battery, I have grown somewhat tired of digging under my coat to find my watch. The clip that it has has some merit as a fastener for cuffs (ask me how I know), but apart from that, it's gotten a bit old to have to check my waist for the time. We'll see, there is some merit not to have my wrist covered up all the time either. Tuesday we hit Toronto for some fabric shopping, and I am getting some shopping done and the big & tall store downtown, hopefully on some boxing week sales.
