Well…having done some insurance quotes, my broker than handles my car insurance, quoted me $X while I had my M1 (exact number escapes me), and about 30% lower after I had my course, and my M2. It still worked out to quite a lot of money. dagibbs suggested that some insurance companies ballpark high, as they just aren’t used to handling motorcycle insurance, and to check out specific companies that are used to dealing with bikes. the_big_cat used Rider Plus, so I got a quote from them. *much* chepear (like another 30% roughly cheaper)….but they don’t insure at all until I’ve taken my course (don’t need the M2, but I do need the course).

Sooo, I called the Ottawa Safety Council about cancellations, and whether there might be any open spots early, and it turns out they are opening another course center. They are just working on paperwork right now, and scheduling instructors. She took my name, and will let me know, but it’s not impossible I could bump up my course earlier.
