dates for Olliebollen cooking and consuming.
Let's pick one. Sat. or Sun obviously best. weekend of the 17th not as ideal for me as Helen is out of town.
The 10th or the 11th would be a little tight, but could work if we stayed on top of it.
In any case,

The rest of you out there, Olliebollen are a kind of dutch fritter with bits of fruit in it, deep fried, and eaten by dipping in icing sugar while still hot. If you are reading this, you will be invited, but that is to clarify for later.

Date: 2004-01-07 06:35 am (UTC)(As you may have read, I hurt my ankle badly on the ice. Duh. And then I got really sick.)
So... yeah, I think I will be OK for this Sunday if I haven't said so too late. Where will this take place? I think I volunteered my place already. I know you guys both live a ways out, but in the same 'hood? If so, I'll come to you. If not, I can be a meeting point. You both know where I live.
Alan doesn't like olliebollen. They're "not healthy." More for us!!
I don't think my frying pan is deep enough.
that's about it.

Date: 2004-01-07 06:39 am (UTC)I don't think it'll happen this weekend, not enough time to get moving. I need to get an ingredient list from Sheryl, and then decide how many pots or pans I have that will be suitable. Stay tuned though.

Date: 2004-01-07 03:53 pm (UTC)Ok.. I said I might be able to make this sun 'cause you said the following weekend is bad for you. Perhaps we'll have to push it back further. That is fine. I'll stay tuned.
Re: schilder
Date: 2004-01-08 06:38 am (UTC)It threw me once though. I was working a summer job which including 2 weeks repainting the outside of a retirement home. I was giving a door a coat of paint, and a dutch retiree comes out the door and says "do a good job schilder" I was floored! How did he know my name, then I realized what he meant and explained why I was so surprised. We had a laugh. That's as much painting as I have ever done though.
Yum!
