Well hell... I just realized my camera has a burnt pixel. The same pixel on all my photos, just one little pixel, is a constant red dot. I just reviewed a series of fairly dark photos from the theatre, there it is, same spot, every picture.

Just when my new batteries had brought new life to its usefulness...that stupid pixel.
