I tried something new at the gym yesterday. I was to late for my bodypump class, but the class after that was called better backs and abs. Well, I thought the core is important, and I need to keep my back strong, let's try it out. It was a nice difference, but it wasn't much of a workout overall (not bad in a few places, just not really worked over at the end), so I decided to also stay for the yoga class afterwards. Yegads....to much downwards facing dog. It's interesting, no matter how much exercise you do, you can always find a new direction your muscles aren't used to going in. It felt good though, I needed a good stretching more than anything else right now.

On an interesting note, I ran into my sister at the class. Apparently she and my brother in law go to goodlife daily, just usually in the morning so I've always missed them. After class we went to grab a tea, and chatted for probably close to 2 hours about all kinds of things, jobs, goings on, family, my move and career thoughts, life, computers, exercise (dagibbs, winter cottage party? excuse to snowshoe about your lake?)...it was good. I get along great with my siblings, when I talk to them at all. I don't tend to have a lot of contact. This is my fault, I just don't seem to make time to reach out to them (ok, we don't reach out to each other often, but I will focus on my part of the equation), despite the fact 3 of them are right here in town, and 2 of them are actually only a bike ride away (and then 1 of them is on Vacouver Island).

he and I try to get out to the cottage in the winter partially for that reason. I also just love winter, and the cottage is delightful when it's that still.

Winter cottage party take a LOT more organisation and care. The big reason is that you can't (generally) drive in to the cottage, so all food has to be hauled in on the backs of the participants. As well as winter gear and winter sports gear. (And any games. Can't be at the cottage without games.)

If gabriel_le and I can find a weekend that works, we might do this. It would almost definitely just be a Saturday morning - Sunday afternoon trip.
