I am the suck at haggling and bargaining.

I just don’t have the knack. My worldview is an upfront, speak your mind, lay your cards on the table approach. I see a price, I cost is out, I break it down, and I decide. I have no culture of haggling over something.

I have settled a lease for a car. I got a tiny deal out of it, and a trade in value that was better than it might have been, and worse that I wished (I didn’t point out the work needed on the exhaust system, they didn’t ask, and they test drove it, so they had their chance). I can’t help but feel I should have been able to bargain an even better price. I did get a tiny bit out of it (in terms of a couple added features)….go me.

Oh well. My monthly rates are actually acceptable none the less…roughly where I expected them to be before walking in. The pictor car will shrink a bit, and get a new colour in a week or so. The economics of the lease mean selling the bike is not as critical now, so I will keep that under consideration, but no need to list it right now.

If I ever buy another house, someone else is haggling for me.

Well….someone is trying to bring electric cars into a sensible price range. Unfortunately, it’s barely more than a motorcycle with a canopy (3 wheels). Still…I hope they become available in Canada. I wouldn’t get one (even if I did fit) right away, but it would be nice to see more options on the market.
